SOUTH BLOOMFIELD - A rollover accident behind the Bob Evans restaurant in South Bloomfield on Sunday sent two teens to a Columbus hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chance Hedrick, 16, and Winston Danison, 17, both of Ashville, were transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by medics from Harrison Township and the Circleville Fire Department following the crash that happened about 6:37 p.m.

According to Captain Bryan Cline, South Bloomfield Police Department, Hedrick was driving an older model Ford F250 pickup truck northbound on South Union Street at speeds at least twice the posted speed limit when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the curb.

The impact with the curb sent the vehicle off the roadway, rolling three times before it finally came to rest on its top at the bottom of a ditch between South Union Street and U.S. Route 23.

Cline said both the driver and passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident and had to be removed from the vehicle by emergency crews at the scene.

The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office assisted with accident reconstruction, and the vehicle was removed by Fletcher's Towing.

Cline said speed is considered the major factor in the accident at this time. He said Hedrick reported traveling at least 50 miles per hour at the time of the crash in the 25 mile-per-hour zone.
