Harry E. Briner, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Brookdale at Pinnacle.

Harry was born on Jan. 10, 1928, in Darbyville, Ohio, to the late Benjamin F. Sr. and Viola E. (Weir) Briner.

He was a proud graduate of Circleville High School and The Ohio State University.

Harry retired as an accountant from EMCORP. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War.

Harry was a member of the American Legion Post #164 Grove City, AMVETS #2256 Circleville, VFW #7941 South Bloomfield, Moose #2440 Circleville and Grove City Elks Lodge #37.

He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in pencil and could still work the one in the New York Times. Harry was an avid bird watcher and loved cardinals. In recent years, he has been working on his family history and genealogy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene "Genie" Briner in 2004; siblings, Walter Newberry, Ruth Brungs, Edna Russell, Benjamin F. Briner and Marie Miller.

He is survived by his sons, Mark (Lauren) Briner of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Steven (Jennifer) Briner of Westerville; beloved grandchildren, Sydney and Jordyn of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Alexander, Samuel, Caden and Max of Westerville; many nieces, nephews and a godchild.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Interment in Grove City Cemetery.
