CIRCLEVILLE - Partners for Paws continues its mission of helping homeless dogs at the Wright-Poling Pickaway County Dog Shelter with two upcoming fundraisers for the cause.

A community fundraiser is set for March 20 at Bob Evans on South Court Street in Circleville. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of sales for diners who present a flyer at the time of purchase. The offer is valid on dine-in or carry-out from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. that day. Flyers can be obtained from the shelter, as well as local vets and businesses around town the week of the event or by calling JoEllen Jacobs at 740-420-6277.

The group's major fundraiser is the Paws For A Cause Wine Tasting Event set for 6 p.m. April 11 at Slate Run Vineyards & Winery, 1900 Winchester Southern Rd., Canal Winchester. Catered by The Ridge Inn in Lancaster, the event includes hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks in addition to wine sampling and a silent auction.

Advance ticket sales are required at a cost of $25 per person or two for $40. Call 740-420-6277 for ticket information before April 3.

Donations to the silent auction also are welcome.

In the meantime, Partners for Paws volunteers have been busy collecting much-needed supplies for the shelter. Dry dog food is a current need, along with pet treats, leashes and collars, blue Dawn dish detergent and bleach.

Item donations can be dropped off at the Dog Shelter at 21253 Ringgold Southern Rd., Circleville. Monetary donations can be mailed to Partners for Paws, P.O. Box 282, Circleville, Ohio 43113.

Partners for Paws is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that raises funds to benefit the safety and well-being of the dogs at the Wright-Poling Pickaway County Dog Shelter and enable injured dogs the opportunity to receive life-saving care so they can find forever homes.
