Reginald Armstrong "Reggie" Welliver, 82, of Circleville, passed away at his daughter Tammy's house in Laurelville, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 23, 2015.
He was born June 30, 1933, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Rupert and Lacy Jane (Armstrong) Welliver.
Reggie was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Newport News heavy cruiser and the Missouri. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post 2256.
Reggie retired from DuPont after 33 years of service.
He was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending precious time with his children and grandchildren, of whom he thought the world.
Reggie was preceded in death by the love of his life, Velma Ruth (Wolfe) Welliver, in 2008; his father, Rupert; mother and step-father, Jane and Russell Good; twin brother, Rupert James Welliver; and special aunt, June Poling.
He is survived by his children, Tammy (Rick) Fogler of Laurelville, Tim (Susan) Welliver of Circleville and Regina (Scott) Watson of Columbus; grandson, Heath Welliver; granddaughter, Faith Watson; sister, Jane Ann (Greg) Fischer of Utah; sister-in-law, Patty Welliver; cousin, Mike Poling; and special friends, John and Eleanor Wilkes, Wendell and Elsie See, Ralph and Rosemary Ankrom and Mike and Mary Rhoades.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Wendell Brown officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Twp. Cemetery with military service provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
