ASHVILLE - Utility crews are working to replace an electric pole in the village after an early morning crash on West Main Street that knocked out power from around Cromley Road west on state Route 316.

The one-vehicle crash occurred just before 3 a.m. Sunday at 555 W. Main Street, according to the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office. Crews from South Central Power estimate repairs will be completed about noon.

The driver of the vehicle, Carl A. Wolfe, 51, is currently in the Pickaway County Jail facing charges of OVI and failure to control.

About six South Central Power customers remained without power at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Visitors to the Ashville Viking Festival on Sunday are urged to avoid the area of Route 316 and instead use state Route 752 as an alternate. The village park can be found by taking Route 752 east to the traffic light at Long Street, making a right on Long Street and then a left at the light at Station Street.
