HARRISON TOWNSHIP - An empty Teays Valley school bus was one of four vehicles involved in a crash Thursday afternoon on U.S. Route 23 north of South Bloomfield.

Jennifer Anderson, 43, of Grove City, was driving a red Toyota 4Runner northbound on U.S. Route 23 and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto state Route 762, according to Deputy Tracy Andrews, Pickaway County Sheriff's Office.

Anderson turned into the path of a southbound semi truck driven by Eugene Brubaker, 62, of Barnville, Pennsylvania, and was struck by the oncoming vehicle.

Andrews said Anderson's SUV deflected off the semi and was thrown into the front end of a black Kia Soul driven by David Wilson, 58, of Commercial Point, that was stopped at the light on Route 762. That vehicle was then pushed back into the Teays Valley school bus that was stopped directly behind it at the traffic light.

No students were on the bus at the time of the accident. The bus driver, Dianna Cookson, 57, of Ashville, reportedly suffered a minor injury and was transported to Berger Hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

Anderson was transported by Harrison Township EMS to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening at the scene, Andrews said.

David Wilson was transported to Grant by Scioto Township EMS for treatment of minor injuries, Andrews said. His passenger, Mary Wilson, was uninjured in the crash.

Brubaker, the driver of the semi, also was not injured.

Anderson was cited for failure to yield on a left turn, Andrews said.
